Infection Control

Infection control and universal precautions protect both the patients and the staff. At Rigby Dental, we practice safe and proven methods of infection control.  If you have any questions at all about our practices or procedures in this regard, please feel free to ask the doctor. Our dentists will be happy to discuss this or any other topic, and address any questions or concerns you may have.

Our entire team follows the procedures recommended by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

These measures include:

  • Disinfectant hand soap
  • Gloves and face masks
  • Chemical disinfection of counter tops and surfaces
  • Sterilization of dental equipment before each use
  • One-time use of disposable materials

We sterilize all reusable equipment, including dental hand pieces. The sterilization process is accomplished using an autoclave, which kills 100% of all bacteria and viruses, through a combination of steam, heat and pressure.

The best defenses against disease are good health care practices and good information. The more you know, the better equipped you will be to make wise decisions about your health care. As stated before, if you do have any questions about our practices or procedures, please feel free to give us a call at Rigby Office Phone Number 208-745-6536.  Thank you!
